Rosemary’s House

Rosemary's House

Oil painting on Gallery Canvas 10×10

I painted this house about five years ago. It sits across the street from my art studio window, and as I was looking for a subject to paint it only seemed natural to capture it on canvas. The sky was as you see it in the painting, but I won’t go as far to say this painting was done plein air! 🙂 ~ Dave

  1. It’s very cute, Dave. Reminds me, don’t know why, but childhood, devoid of any complications, the place where you can hide from the civilization : )

Thanks Yuriy…its funny you should say that because the lady that lived there was just as you described, very uncomplicated, and I mean that in a good way! 🙂 It was the farm house she lived in all her life with her folks and life was good.

For me, this painting was the beginning of something new…a much looser format than what I was used to, because I injured both my wrists building my house and was not sure I could paint again. I’ve done a dozen painting since…but none as cute as this one, lol!

Thanks Yuriy, I appreciate your comments. ~ Dave

Thanks Erik…ya, this was something completely out of my element. I was experimenting with the paint to see if I could even paint after injuring my wrists building my house. So while it may look quite simple, it was an accomplishment for me. ~ dave

On now that is beautiful! I had no idea you painted also. I paint with acrylics, but lately I havent been able because of health issues.
By late july I will be back in the saddle again. I have been trying to learn watercolors. It is unusual, and for some unknown reason, I haven’t been able to master it. I may have to take a watercolors class.
That’s a very scerne painting Dave
